Join world renowned mosaic tile artist, Sherri Warner Hunter and produce a family or individual masterpiece. Sherri’s work is included in numerous private collections and can be viewed publicly at many places around the United States including the Nashville International Airport (planes sculptures - outside lower level) and The Gathering at the Oasis Center. Sherri has published two mosaic art books. The class will include her expert instruction and all materials. You can choose between a cast stone or a reverse cast stone. Please feel free to bring “frost resistant” personal items to incorporate into your individual stepping stone. If you aren’t sure if the items will work, bring them and we’ll decide when you arrive.

Visit an Open Archaeological Dig Site with Archaeologist, Aaron Deter-Wolf

The Glass Mounds site west of Franklin, TN
consists of two earthen mounds constructed
approximately 200 AD during the Woodland
Period of Tennessee’s prehistory. The mounds
were excavated by Harvard’s Peabody Museum
in the late 19th century, and most of the
surrounding site area has been destroyed
by modern development. The Tennessee
Division of Archaeology, with the assistance of students from MTSU, will be conducting limited excavations at the sitein support of a nomination for the National Register of Historic Places. This trip will give participants an opportunity to see archaeologists at work and learn more about the site and Middle Tennessee’s prehistoric past.
